Rationale

In the world ranking of universities, publications of faculty in Scopus place a vital role in evaluating the research strength of schools. Thus, the Philippines also patronized Scopus in its bid to join the world ranking of universities. Today, faculty ranking and promotion require publications from Scopus. Hence, this webinar provides valuable lessons and skills on how to publish in Scopus journals.

The webinar objectives are to:

  1. Describe the new wave of global demand for Scopus publications;
  2. Determine the standards of Scopus publications;
  3. Enhance the participants’ quality of scientific writing for acceptability in international publications
  4. Prepare manuscript for submissions; and
  5. Handle the peer review process.

DR. ALEXANDER S. ACOSTA

With such academic background and equally impressive skills to boot, Dr. Alexander S. Acosta has been the Principal for the Philippine School of Doha for more than 15 years. An indemand speaker, his speakership engagements are centered on topics about leadership and education. His research interests are in the qualitative and mixed-methods research design in the field of corporate and educational leadership as well as pedagogical approaches in education. Publications he authored and co-authored are published in Elsevier, Sage Publications and WIEGO, among others. Graduated Cum Laude with the degree of Bachelor in Elementary Education, major in English at the University of the Visayas, Cebu, Philippines in 1990. He finished his Master’s Degree program majoring in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) at Cebu Normal University, Cebu, Philippines in 2000. A Doctor of Philosophy Major in Educational Management graduate in 2010 at the University of Santo Tomas, Manila, Philippines and got the highest award of his dissertation as Summa Cum Laude.

DR. IMEE COLONIA ACOSTA

Dr. Imee C. Acosta is an Ed. D. graduate of the Technological University of the Philippines Graduate School Program, Middle East Extension. She also holds a Master of Business Administration from Philippine Christian University, in addition to a Bachelor of Elementary Education major in Social Science from Cebu Normal University, Philippines. A prolific author, researcher and speaker, among others, Dr. Acosta’s numerous endeavors reflects her penchant to research specifically the qualitative and mixed method kind. Currently, an Adjunct Instructor of the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Arts, her paper on the effects of workplace abuses of migrant workers was published by WIEGO and awarded the Best Manuscript in the International Conference in Business and Social Sciences 2014 in Tokyo, Japan. She is also an advocate for research dissemination and practice. She has published and co-authored scholarly articles and researches that were accepted for international publications and presented in international conferences. She also believes that collaborative and participatory research projects are developing interdisciplinary teaching and learning which serve as the primary reasons of her current co-authorships in research projects in the oil and gas industries in Doha, Qatar.

Dr. Genaro Virador Japos is currently a Professiorial Chair Holder of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines Business and Governance in recognition of his sustained high-level research accomplishments in the international and national level. He is the first Filipino scholar to hold a distinction as holder of five doctoral degrees in Education, Management, Human Resource Management, Instructional System, and Organization Development. He is a regular member of the National Research Council of the Philippines Division of Social Sciences. Once A finalist of Metrobank Search for Outstanding Teacher, he has conducted trainings and conferences in the Philippines and 20 other countries. As an administrator, he was Dean of Father Saturnino Urios University and Vice President and Director of Research at Liceo de Cagayan University. As publisher and editor, He has managed journals which were accredited by the Commission on Higher Education and indexed by Thomson Reuters, Cengage Gayle, Proquest, Ebsco Host and aggregated by the Philippine Electronic Journals. As research mentor, He is a visiting professor of various public and private universities in the Philippines and the Middle East. As author, he is a published and cited author with publications in international reputable journals and indexing in Scopus Elsevier. He is the first entrepreneur who successfully organized conferences in Asia and the Pacific serving clients in over 50 countries. He is currently a board member representing the Philippines in the multi-country board members of the Asia Pacific Educational Research Association being elected by the APERA board held at the National Institute of Education Singapore.

  2. Once we receive your filled-out google form, we will be sending you a charge invoice reflecting the details of the mode of payment chosen.
  3. Once registration payment has been made, please send us the copy of the deposit slip or proof of transaction via email ([email protected]).
  4. We will be sending the ZOOM Meeting ID and Password once participation is confirmed.

Webinar Set-up

Participants will be needing a Mobile Phone or Laptop, Zoom Account and internet connection to participate on this Webinar. The Webinar will run for two consecutive days June 27- 28, 2022.

Post-Webinar

  1. Participant will be receiving three e-certificates: Certificate of Completion, Participation and Attendance.
  2. We will be providing official receipt for the registration sent via email. Should you request for the original copy of the official receipt, we could send it via LBC with a minimal shipping fee of P145.00 shouldered by the participant.
  3. All soft copies of the files/materials used during the webinar will be sent via email after the webinar.
