Guiding researchers establish the state of existing knowledge through the appraisal and synthesis of research evidence, systematic reviews stand as a cornerstone of evidence-based scholarship. Systematic reviews involves explicit data collection, careful evaluation and scientific examination of often related but separate research studies. A rigorous and multifaceted endeavor that demands meticulous planning, diligent execution, and transparent reporting, how can one design and publish a well-structured systematic review that advances scientific knowledge and address critical needs across various fields?
Developing the research capabilities of every researcher through skills development, the Asian Society of Teachers for Research, Inc. hosts the Webinar on Designing Review Papers for High-Impact Publications on September 4-6, 2025 (8:30 am-12:00 nn Philippine Standard Time, daily) with our resource speaker Dr. Andrea B. Martinez of the University of the Philippines Manila. Currently, Dr. Martinez is also a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow of the School of Psychology, University of Surrey, England as well as a Global Data Fellow of the Global Child Safety Institute, University of Edinburgh, Scotland.
OBJECTIVES OF THE WEBINAR:
- To equip participants with the foundational knowledge and practical skills required to design and execute a systematic review;
- To enable participants to effectively synthesize and interpret findings from systematic reviews;
- To guide participants through the process of preparing a systematic review manuscript for publication and navigating the journal submission process.

The regular registration rate for the Webinar is at 2500 PhP. A discounted rate of 2000 PhP is given to individual and institutional members of the organization. Deadline for confirmation and payment will be September 2, 2025, Tuesday.

Once complete pre-registration details are received, we will be sending the interested participants the respective charge invoice for the pre-registration payment through bank/money transfer.

The digital official receipt (service invoice) of the confirmed payment will be sent through email together with the digital certificates.

The participant should have a mobile phone/laptop, stable internet connectivity and ZOOM account to participate in this Webinar. A separate Webinar Outline detailing the time schedule and topics per session is attached for your perusal.
All files including powerpoint presentations (PPTs), forms, materials, and how-tos will be made available to the participants during and after the Webinar proper.
You will receive three certificates for the Training-Workshop: Certificate of Completion, Attendance and Participation. All certificates will be digital and sent through email together with the digital copy of the official receipt. Should you wish for a physical copy, a minimal amount of shipping fee of 180 PhP will be shouldered by the participant.

Dr. Andrea Martinez is an assistant professor at the Department of Behavioral Science in the University of the Philippines Manila. She finished her bachelor’s degree in behavioral science in UP Manila, and her master’s degree in special education in UP Diliman. She obtained her PhD in Psychology at King’s College London. She is doing her post-doctoral research fellowship at the University of Surrey in England. She serves in various capacities as consultant and member of the board of trustees in various non-government organizations and government agencies for children, women, and social welfare, both in Manila and London.
Her research interests dealt with issues on mental health and help-seeking behavior, violence against women and children, self-harm behavior and drug use, most notable of which include the national baseline study on violence against children and the online child sexual abuse and exploitation study, both funded by the UNICEF. She is also part of the research advisory group of Plan International and UNICEF for action research on changing social norms for online child sexual abuse and exploitation.
She was awarded Gawad Chancellor Award for public service in 2017 and One UP Faculty Award in public service in 2016 and 2018.
